Slavery in the Shadows
In countries such as India, China, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, and Mali, modern slavery remains a rampant and deeply rooted problem. Despite global efforts to fight human trafficking and forced labor, the exploitation of vulnerable populations continues on. What makes this crisis even more shocking is how much it is hidden from public view. These human rights abuses are often hidden due to distance, corruption, little to none legal enforcement, and the complexity of global supply chains. As a result, much of the world remains doesn't know of the suffering that comes from the products they consume daily, from smartphones and clothing to gold and other natural resources.
